About these entries
Two clubs carry the weight of organised chess here. The Dubai Chess & Culture Club in Al Mamzar hosts the Dubai Open, the Zayed championship and the National Day rapid in its own hall and appointed a former world junior champion as head coach in October 2026. The Sharjah Cultural & Chess Club hosts the Sharjah International championship and a long series of tournaments titled SCA, and has won the national league.
Around them are the women’s club in Sharjah, the club in Ajman and clubs for players with disabilities in Dubai and Sharjah, all on the federation’s register. Smaller clubs such as Grandmasters, Lex, Josh and MIRA appear through their tournaments, and DSO Chess Club meets three times a week at a restaurant in Dubai Silicon Oasis.
