Chess clubs in Sharjah 3
About these entries
Sharjah, next door to Dubai, has three clubs on the federation’s register. The Sharjah Cultural & Chess Club is the largest: the state news agency reported seventeen medals for it in one season and a second national league title, a FIDE news item described it as a chess school for children, and its hall hosts the Sharjah International championship and the SCA series.
The Chess & Culture Club for Sharjah Women organises its own tournaments, the latest played in the Sharjah club’s hall, and Al Thiqah Club for Disabled in Muwaileh Commercial holds a numbered Ramadan championship. The groups that meet at the Sahara Centre in Al Nahda are listed under meetups.
